Helpful Tips
Please remember these simple steps when completing a RIF…
-
The preferred way to submit a RIF is online at www.everyday.chiomega.com. In order to do so, you must be registered as an alumnae through Chi Omega. If you have any trouble logging on, please reach out online for help— they are very responsive and will get you taken care of.
-
Please upload a photo of the PNM. If you have trouble uploading photos to the website, please send directly to an ARIC (area recruitment introduction chair) via email or text. ARIC contact info can be found under our alumnae chapter information on the website. A photo MUST accompany each RIF.
-
Please upload a copy of the PNM’s resume to the website. Do not write “see resume for details” on the RIF. It is important to fill out each section online with information from the PNM’s resume.
-
Do not leave the last few boxes on the form blank— this is where you can really “sell” your PNM. You will be asked for additional comments or information (ex: conversation tips, matching suggestions, and tips to engage the PNM). Mention special things about the PNM to make her stand out and ways in which the PNM aligns with Chi Omega’s 6 purposes: friendship, high standards of personnel, scholarship, participation in campus activities, career development, and community service. If you know the PNM personally, make sure you check that box on the form.
-
Chapters pay attention to "matching suggestions" so please include details regardless of how small they may be: what's her favorite band, tv show or sports team, does she love to bake or has she traveled somewhere interesting? Does she come from a large family? These tips are used to match PNMs with actives who they have something in common with.
-
After you submit the RIF online you may send hard copies of the PNM’s resume and photo along with a short, hand written note directly to the chapter where she is going to school. Contact info can be found on www.everyday.chiomega.com by searching for Collegiate Chapters, then look under Chapter Leadership.
-
Once you have submitted the RIF, let the PNM know it has been submitted. Encourage her to follow the chapter’s social media outlets, tell her what you love about Chi Omega and wish her well in recruitment. Remember this can be super stressful for PNMs, make sure her interaction with you is an excellent first impression of Chi Omega.
Again, THANK YOU for your help in submitting RIFs. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out for help.
